Reasons why you can't compare the UK with Italy:
Italy had no warning and entered a full lockdown almost immediately
The UK had thee weeks notice and we just got told to 'sing happy birthday whilst washing your hands'
#StayAlert
Cover your drinks.
Don't walk alone after dark.
Don't go to work.
Wear clothes that hide your skin.
Oh oops my mistake, these are rules which women have to follow in order to #StayAlert in this sexist society.
My mum lived thru the Blitz. She’s boycotting VE Day to protest equating it with the pandemic. She says everyone was sick of Vera Lynn- it wasn’t a victory but a relief. People wanted peace n bread. They didn’t want to make do and mend. They wanted jobs.
South Korea and the US had their first reported case on the same day.
Today, South Korea has reduced daily cases by 90%. In the US, 70,000 Americans have died and unemployment has hit 14.7%.
The difference: competent government that heeds experts. Vote for that in November.
Simply do not understand how people are clapping for the NHS but are still having friends and family over for barbecues, and voting Tory. You don't fight fire with fire.

@ocoalex55 So then the government should have enforced a stricter lockdown like Spain and Italy. They also should have done something about it in those 3 weeks rather than sit back and wait
@kxyinlax It's very true! But other factors have to be taken into account, such as London being 3x bigger than the largest Italian city and the population of the UK being 6 million larger.
