@SantoshSusarla@anish_koka The level of complexity of some procedures is difficult to understand if you’ve never been there. Expecting a nurse who most likely can’t even see what is happening to say something is ridiculous. Most assisting surgeons and residents/fellow may not even be aware as well
@TurtleTime911@FlowerTower87@womenonthemove1 in hospitals or medical clinics, Dr is reserved for physicians.
Basically, in a NPs work setting, even if they have their own practice, as is possible in some states, they should not be referring to themselves as Dr…
@Hopingflower@DrDadBuilder For a surgical specialty like Urology, this isn’t that surprising. If it is not cancer, I assume a most other problems are likely straightforward or benign. These are not holistic appts…
@thycelticcross@MarioNawfal This is because you guys, Canada have an over supply, so we buy your oil for cheap and sell ours for a higher price. If things changing in the future, we will start using our own…
@HeroicLife@LayoffAI I’m talking about savings to the US healthcare system in general, AI replacing radiologist won’t add much civics actually increase cost because they’ll be more imaging, a lot more useless imaging…
@HeroicLife@LayoffAI These are NOT mostly fixed costs ; there is a technical fee for every time CT/MRI/XR machine is used ; hospitals bill insurance companies this fee or the patient if not insured. hence why healthcare cost have gone through the roof…
@HeroicLife@LayoffAI You do realize that at least in the USA close to 90% of the cost of imaging isn’t due to the radiologist read fee.. The majority comes from the technical fee, meaning the cost of operating the MRI/CT scanner, etc. AI doesn’t make that cheaper..
@briansafrit@RichDuszak@ChristinaPushaw There are a lot of gray areas in Radiology, plenty of edge cases… eventually AI may get there, but it’s nowhere near as of today.
radiologist also do procedures, such as biopsies, they are constantly consulted by other physicians about specific cases, they protocol cases
@sabooky15@kalsf6@MaryBowdenMD Did you read the article you posted? It clearly describes that CAD which has been around for the past decade merely HELPS in detection. It’s not a stand alone AI Tool…
@on_jra@elbh@joeroganhq he said progressives not Democrats, there’s a spectrum of Democrats, and progressive tend to be far left than more moderate Democrats. And obviously he is speaking in generalizations , aimed to the loudest voices of the Left such as AOC.
@Silvia15529122 @ScanlonJos71339 @drpaulee@r0ck3t23 Haha of course sue the human, but then why would a doctor put their license on the line without actually doing the job?? The Bureaucracy of American medicine will create many many hurdles…
@folarinosu Also, the general public doesn’t realize that a significant portion of Radiology involves edge/unclear cases, where a differential is formulated. AI will for sure have the toughest time with this aspect of radiology, which requires a lot of experience and understanding context
