Have you ever thought…
“I wish I could just fast forward thru this shitty part and get to when my goal becomes real?”
Right. Me too.
But taken to the natural extreme, the day you die, you would’ve achieved all the goals you set out to accomplish.
And then - immediately die.
Which when you think about it - shows how silly it is for us to think this way.
You might as well say “I’d like to fast forward to the end of the movie”
If that’s the case, you might as well not watch it. Or in our case - live it.
So - the reverse of that would be to value the shitty part as equal (or even greater than) the end.
Since we don’t want the story to end (we die), we flip the “fast forward to the end” frame to “slow down right now”
In other words - the todays - become the “good ol days” of our future selves looking back.
And - doing the work - becomes the only goal worth living for.
