#NaneNane
Emotional Kenyans have a very strange habit of emotionally lifting people into fame without first asking whether the person has the talent, discipline, management or staying power needed to survive once the excitement disappears.
The Stivo Simple Boy situation is a perfect example, because people pushed him into national attention through sympathy, jokes and social media hype, then expected managers to somehow manufacture a long career from attention that was never built on a strong foundation.
This is the same country that once turned a man into a national celebrity simply because he was photographed eating githeri while queuing to vote, after which companies started gifting him phones, clothes and endorsement opportunities, before the excitement eventually moved on to the next viral person.
We have done the same thing repeatedly with random viral characters, lookalikes, screamers, dancers and people who become famous for one funny clip, then everybody behaves as if internet attention automatically means there is a sustainable career waiting underneath.
Now that the music is no longer carrying the same excitement around Stivo, everyone is suddenly blaming managers, promoters and the industry, yet the same public created the pressure around him and helped turn every personal struggle into another round of content.
Kenyans should stop pretending they are innocent in this cycle, because from politics to entertainment we are extremely emotional, very easy to excite, very easy to manipulate, and always shocked when the people we carried to the top become difficult to control by doing stupid stunts!
Please stop wasting our taxes and your time on plastic bags when government is turning Kenya into a desert by bringing down every possible tree.
Soon we will make you answerable for simply watching as our environment was messed up by greed. You will pay for it.
I am sick and tired of this government.
They are cutting down trees
They are looting public money
They underfund schools and hospitals
They are importing Ebola
They are campaigning instead of working
Kasongo and all his allies must face the music next year.
Murkomen says a small thing like shooting of cows has taken him to parliament for questioning. He even asked what about if it was human beings, yet he has been doing it.
This guy was not a lawyer
DRC Congo comrades were fed with with back to back Ebola cases until they stormed "isolation" center and burnt it to ashes.
Ebola went for good.
Kenyans, learn from your fellow cousins.
