Geochemist/Experimental Petrologist at Ruhr-Uni Bochum @insititut. Dissolving or making rocks to study the origins of early Earth’s crust 🏴 in 🇩🇪
Excited to share my 1st paper, out today in GCA. We investigate the behaviour of Ti isotopes during magma differentiation and its potential to probe the geodynamic setting of magma generation @marcamillet @LissenbergJohan@CU_Solid_Earth @GW4plusDTP https://t.co/nmf5tGbo8P
30-months for attempting to burn a police car.
5-years for attending a Just Stop Oil zoom meeting about direct action.
And these fascists will still talk about “two tier” — it is a joke.
With the Greens now having the same number of seats as Reform, the UK media should provide them the same platform and level of coverage as Farage’s ilk. Will it happen though? #GE24
It's more of an hobby than anything else but I'm very happy that my submission was shortlisted for the new @WeAreAGCjournal brand identity 💎 Make sure to vote for your favorite on the link down below
The Green Party now has 772 councillors in England & Wales, far more than UKIP ever did at its peak. Meanwhile they have an MP in @CarolineLucas
At what point will the national media start giving them the coverage they clearly deserve?
First proper session on the newly installed @esi_icpms@Agilent LA-ICP-MS system @insititut⚡️ 🔫 zapping some experimental amphiboles and glasses for trace element partitioning
This is magnificent.
A slice of strange, antiquated Valleys life, care of the visionary Alan Whicker, and featuring the golden-voiced poetic ridiculousness of Gwyn Thomas.
Its subject? Chips.
Beautiful.
Ohhh goodness NO. This perpetuates exclusionary behavior in academia. This devalues first-gen and historically- excluded groups' experiences and only rewards privilege.
You should not be expected to have multiple pubs to get into grad school. The PhD IS the scientific training.
📢📢🤓- 2 weeks to submit your abstract to @goldschmidt2023

Breakthrough: A new peer-reviewed academic study of Exxon's decades of climate deceit is huge for climate litigation throughout the US and world. Evidence of industry wrongdoing is indisputable.
Will help the climate movement for years to come.⬇️

@kimberlite_8 On the other hand I feel privileged to get paid to do science. But I feel powerless to fight for change as an ERC. From past experience anytime PhDs or postdocs raise issues or complaints about the system we’re labelled as troublemakers, we should just accept the status quo etc.
A great piece. I often wonder if academia is broken beyond repair, particularly given the immense precarity, difficulty of finding permanent employment, messed up publishing system, and resistance from some of the old guard to make it more inclusive and accessible…
Before 2022 ends, I want to draw your attention to this piece that @silvia_volante and I wrote for the @EGU_GMPV Blog about ECR life and struggles.
Let us know what you think about it.
