Bruce spent years after Endgame trying to build a normal life, make peace with himself, and actually control the Hulk. Then Jean takes over his body and forces all that old trauma back to the surface.
By the end, he’s back to Savage Hulk and ends up hospitalized for psychiatric help. Jean gets her redemption, but Bruce basically loses years of healing because of what happened to him. That’s honestly one of the saddest parts of the movie.
