There's always more than one side to a story.
The side you think is important probably isn't.
Everything is much more complicated than you think it is.
Trying to provide any kind of context about that gets you hated by just about everyone.
I'm going to bed.
3 years ago today @MarkDrakeford planted a tree at Brownhill Farm. There is no Covid Memorial Woodland there now but it was good PR eh? 🤷♀️
We’ll never forget how @WelshLabour treated the dead and bereaved 😡 We want a national monument at the Bay.

One of the concerning framings of the Levinovitz WIRED article is the deep lack of understanding about PEM (& outing a professor in the process)!
Dr Elke Hausmann (retired GP & with lived experience) addresses this brilliantly in her article.

Research ethics boards need urgent training on Long COVID and ME. Despite being set up to protect vulnerable participants, these boards are ill-equipped to ensure research is safe, especially regarding post-exertional malaise (PEM). https://t.co/Jq25GIZHk7
“I nodded off and was woken by my daughter’s hysterical crying. When I picked her up, I discovered rats had gnawed at her foot while she slept. I was so afraid, I felt my soul leave my body. I started screaming and crying, grabbed her and ran together with my husband between medical service points to find medicine or disinfectants against infection and poisoning. But the military doesn’t even allow medicine and disinfectants into Gaza.”
Rana Qarmut, 22, describes the helplessness of parents in displacement camps trying to protect their children from the rodent infestation in Gaza.
Israel’s systematic destruction of the water and sewage infrastructure have turned these camps into a public health crisis: the extreme levels of garbage and open sewage flowing between the tents are an ideal breeding ground for rodents and pests.
According to Save the Children figures from April 2026, the tents in more than 80% of displacement camps have rats, fleas and ticks inside regularly. As summer temperatures rise, the combination of pollution, unhygienic conditions and a shattered healthcare system is leading to the spread of severe skin and intestinal diseases, and turning simple injuries into life-threatening conditions.
By blocking the entry of basic necessities for survival, including medicines and pesticides, Israel is perpetuating an environment in Gaza that is unfit for human habitation, deliberately leaving millions of displaced people exposed to epidemics.
The genocide in Gaza continues.

@davidtuller1@johnthejack I have bits and pieces of the exchange, but nothing complete. And only one side of the exchange between MG and SW. I wasn't expecting MG to delete his tweets. 😕
@johnthejack@davidtuller1 The invocation of MG was as a result of Claudia's tweet: https://t.co/0RovMbbVA3
I don't think I captured that exchange though.
@_Lucibee@agirlandme @wilshica What a gem. His tweets lay bare the irrational and unethical mindset behind PACE. A glimpse of 'the banality of evil', considering the many horrendous consequences of that trial.
Said Dr. Mark Painter in a recent episode of PolyBio’s Lab Visits: “What we’re seeing in a third of people with Long COVID, maybe more, is evidence that T cells recognizing either SARS-CoV-2—or in some different people, herpesviruses—are persistently activated. Which is suggestive that those viruses are present somewhere in the body.”

According to @AlanLevinovitz, there is no such thing as “long Covid” because it encompasses a range of conditions.
Yes, it DOES encompass a range of conditions affecting many body organs.
But that’s like saying “there is no Cancer” because it can affect many different organs.
BREAKING: The Israeli military says fighting in southern Lebanon has not stopped and warns residents against returning to the area, Reuters reports, a day after Israel agreed to a ceasefire with Lebanon.

Make it make sense! On the one hand we have cancer and oncology - a field where the doctors and researchers devoted time and effort to rigorously show that mind-body techniques like psychotherapy, meditation, yoga, and breath work were supportive but not curative - as they did not want patients to harm themselves by forgoing or putting off drug treatment.
Then we have MECFS where almost the opposite has occurred. Despite 1000s of studies detailing clear biological dysfunction - we (patients) are still fighting every day to have our disease accepted by doctors and treated for what it is and to not be referred to Psychiatry.
For some crazy reason people think there are some diseases one can think their way of whereas others they cant. Its bonkers.
@mediumwhite It's not defined either in the trial manuals/papers.
Mentions in GET manual:
"The most prominent symptom of CFS/ME is post-exertional fatigue, resulting in avoidance of exercise, exercise intolerance, and reduced aerobic capacity."
and...
@mediumwhite It's a strawman.
They've always used whatever definition suits whatever point they are trying to make at the time.
The questionnaires used in the trial gave ample opportunity for that:
