@theMadridZone@jfelixdiaz@MG09123 Fairly obvious the £120m is a starting price selling fee. Any idea what price Chelsea won’t go under? Assuming it has to be around the £100m mark given the other prices on midfielders in the market
I’ll never understand how Brighton let Joao Pedro go for £55m + £5m in add-ons when they are able to get a fixed £52m for Van Hecke, who also only has one year left on his deal
🚨 EXCL: Tottenham Hotspur reach agreement with Brighton & Hove Albion to sign Jan Paul van Hecke. Deal for 26yo #Netherlands int’l worth £52m fixed, no add-ons. Luka Vuskovic situation separate; 2nd #BHAFC offer worth £35m rejected by #THFC@TheAthleticFC https://t.co/1D4yy6dJp3

@journalism_rp Hmmm I wonder who the 2nd highest is? Couldn’t possibly be the guy who is being sold for less than he was bought for when he has now proven himself on the top level, could it? 🤔
Turns out the fee is a small bit better than originally reported. Still not crazy at selling an in-prime LB for less than you signed him for, and for not much more than what Madrid paid for a lesser LB last year. Also, do we sign a replacement or is Hato at LB the plan now?
Selling one of the best LBs in the world for the same price they paid for an 18 year old Hato. Winstanley, Stewart, Shields & Eghbali are just genuinely awful at everything they touch, aren’t they?
@journalism_rp Thanks, that furthers the point I’m making. Cucurella is known quantity, an established, in-his-prime LB that all 3 big clubs in Spain were interested in, and the richest club in the world ended up signing him. Just feels like there was another £10m that we should have gotten.

I’d love to know where the concept of Clearlake are happy to keep ‘making money’ comes from because they are worse at that, than they are at putting a good team together (and they are awful at that!). Just say they haven’t a clue at running a football club, and leave it at that
❗️Joe Cole: “Because so much money has been wasted at Chelsea, no player is untouchable, every player has a price, because it's run as a business. Under Roman Abramovich, the club was run to win trophies first, make money second. Now, the club is run to make money first, win trophies second. That's the truth. You can do both, but you've got to be very, very, very good. It’s important to be honest in this current climate.” [@kierangill_DM] https://t.co/pGHgGe2Rfe
@Eyedontmind_ The only issue is depth. Unless Xabi sees Reece as a CM option, we’re really thin once you look past Santos-Caicedo. Essugo is a good bench option but we’re not sure how Barco will adapt & Lavia can’t be relied upon. There must be some good options in the £30-40m range.
🚨⚪ BREAKING: Florentino Pérez's shortlist for Real Madrid this summer, ASIDE from the superstar signing:
- JOAO NEVES 🇵🇹
- JOSKO GVARDIOL 🇭🇷
- MATEUS FERNANDES 🇵🇹
@AlbertoPereiro
@OlIyCFC Replacing Enzo by bringing in a left-sided attacker/AM is really the only thing we should be doing. It’s 1 game a week, and we’ve already spent £100m on random Strasbourg players & Quenda. Unless there’s an obvious upgrade I would focus on selling the squad players this summer.
