Hello everyone! Let’s do some fact checking.
❓ Mehdi Torabi’s visa was single entry and he can’t enter the US anymore after returning to Mexico.
✅ True. (as of now)
❓ Mehdi Taremi’s visa has been revoked and won’t be able to enter the US anymore.
❌ False.
❓ Mehdi Taremi and Saeid Alhoei faced issues returning to Mexico and were questioned for a while at LAX.
✅ True.
❓ The team only found out they have to leave the US after the match.
🟰 Half true, half false. They found out pretty late but it was before the game.
❓ Mohammad Mohebi made a “shooting” celebration at Iranians with the Lion/Sun flag after scoring.
❌ False, it’s a normal celebration in football and he wasn’t aiming at anyone.
Here’s what he had to say after the game:
“First, I wanted to say thank you to all the Iranian fans that came to watch in Los Angeles. They made a great atmosphere in the game. The celebration was just coming in the mind, in the moment. I do it like this [gestures with his hands] and I wanted to do it like this for all the fans. It’s just a celebration you know, and that’s it.”
Enjoy your day! Some pretty exciting matches today. 🙏
'In this World Cup’s great convergence of 48 nations, one is conspicuously not receiving the same treatment as the other 47.
'And however much Gianni Infantino might try to posture as the ultimate peacemaker, he must surely see that the longer this problem persists, the graver the implications will be for his tournament’s integrity.'

Iran came from behind twice to draw 2-2 against New Zealand.
To some people, it’s just a draw.
But after everything this team has been through, it felt like a victory.
Traveling from Mexico to the USA just to play, then having to make the long trip back home. Carrying the weight of politics, pressure, and years of tension with the USA, yet still finding a way to focus on football.
They went behind once and fought back. They went behind again and fought back again.
That is the spirit of this Iran team. Tonight, Iran didn’t just earn a point.
They earned respect. 🇮🇷❤️
