@1800flowers I accidently ordered 2 flowers (instead of 1) an hour ago and your customer service says it can't do anything about it because it's out for delivery (supposed to be delivered 2 days from now). Terrible service!
@allenholub It's a really interesting perspective.
Can I ask @allenholub , in your experience are there organizations that have addressed this and demonstrated success in doing so? I like the idea just wondering if there are case studies as examples.
@allenholub Usually in my experience it's ushered in by someone who thinks the organization needs a common measurement for performance. Usually that person(s) struggles to recognize value and opts for hard metrics which require less intellectual effort. It's easy to count story points.
@RandallKanna I also get a kick out of magic numbers in general. I think we should take it a step further.. demand minimum of 10.08 just to be sure we get the right person.
@allenholub I'd like to think liaison is a better term/role. Someone who can shield the team from noise, helps align with leadership, identity problems and promote solutions. I agree manager implies someone who is assessing the decisions and methods of a team - which in the end is waste.
@florinpop17 My first gig was coding a supply order form for a healthcare company (had a good relationship with the web developer). 10 years later company still sends projects my way.
@awesomekling@dev_nikema Agreed, code reviews do more harm than good if the author doesn't feel safe and if the purpose isn't to create a conversation.
@EasyVipin Research companies that offer interview and have some questions ready for them.
Be prepared to provide examples of different projects you have worked on.
