I DESPERATELY want to love it, a Carrie series has been my dream since I saw what was done with Bates Motel, I’m just very very skeptical after reading even the positive reviews.

I also don’t see what any respected reviewer would possibly hope to gain from lying when we’ll all be able to hold them to it in a weeks time.

@Abrakadabruhh_ @EsteIla_Couture These are the reviews from the lifted embargo today from people who’ve seen the whole thing, and a lot are saying the choices made about the prom etc are going to be very divisive. One says Carrie doesn’t give in to rage and keeps her heart of gold throughout which is worrying.

They did that in 2002 as I’m sure you know, I genuinely hate that choice, I think it takes away from how tragic it all is and I think it’s morally ugly to have a mass murderer get to go on and heal while others died. King famously hates most adaptations but Mike has figured out how to play him and gets away with murder so I’m sure it’ll be the Shine

@EsteIla_Couture @SaintNicho57806 @Beyondreporter1 I think Mike is going to turn her into a Shine user because it supports HIS vision and HIS universe but that’d be a change for THIS VERSION. In the book the Shine does not exist and King has NEVER updated it to be, so Carrie is still its own part of the universe.

It’s a physical abnormality in her brain passed down by her father. Even in the Dark Tower Carrie is mentioned as a BOOK. The shine DOES NOT EXIST IN CARRIE.
