Starship transiting the Sun this morning during Flight 14 — prior to this morning's mission, this has never been captured before with the world's largest and most powerful rocket.

I’ve ached over this shot for years, mainly for two reasons: what does methane exhaust look like silhouetted against the Sun, and how violent are the acoustic energy waves from 33 Raptor engines on the Super Heavy booster?

Well...now we have an answer.

‘Taking Flight’ (nearly).  Our beautiful Artemis III Space Launch System (SLS) Core Stage left the surface of the earth (briefly) today as it ‘flew over the hump’ via a giant crane in the Vehicle Assembly Building to be mated between our 2 already assembled Solid Rocket Boosters on the Mobile Launcher.  Spectacular job by our SLS, Exploration Ground Systems,and  @NASAKennedy team! Go @NASAArtemis III!

It's wild to think that Ship 43 may be the first Ship to visit more than one launch site... fly from LC-39A and caught at Pad 2, where it's undergoing catch testing RIGHT NOW.

Meanwhile, Ship 42 is prepping for a single-engine static fire.

ICYMI: the International Space Station was seen crossing in front of the Moon earlier this morning from Florida’s Space Coast (left image, taken by me).

@astro_anil was also looking down from the station around the same time and caught the Florida peninsula lit by the near-full moon (right image).

Booster 22 completed a full-duration static fire test on Pad 2 ahead of November's Flight 15, while several future vehicles undergo preparation for their upcoming missions.

The team also made progress at LC-36B yesterday. Roughly 450 truckloads of concrete, lined up bumper-to-bumper and stretching nearly 3 miles up the coast, supported a 4,500-cubic-yard pour for the pile caps. Three more placements to go for a total of 15,000 cubic yards. This is the foundation for our New Glenn 9x4 pad.
