BREAKING: DHS confirms to @FoxNews that the semi truck driver arrested for killing two people in a hit & run crash near Sacramento, CA yesterday is an Indian illegal alien who was caught & released at the AZ border by the Biden admin in 2023. His name is Manvir Singh, and he is now facing charges in San Joaquin County, CA for vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence and hit & run resulting in death. He allegedly tried to flee the scene on foot after the crash. ICE has placed a detainer on him with local law enforcement.
This is the fourth Indian illegal alien truck driver with the last name “Singh” that we’ve covered who has been arrested for killing innocent people in crashes around the country, going back to last year.
No details on his CDL yet, or if he even has one. More to come.
Ok, I'm just telling you, my kid's major peewee season was $800. It was 55 games, three practices a week, and 4 tournaments. I buy used equipment, and it works just fine. This does exist in the U.S. So ask yourself why you don't have access to this where you are. Are there AAA teams around you? Are the rinks all privately owned? Is there a toxic parent environment where everyone is trying to get ahead, do a bunch of extra crap, find a better team, and so on?
There are places where hockey costs well under $1,000 a year for good competition, 50 games, and three hours of practice a week. That is on par with basically all sports, typically in smaller community-based programs in the Midwest.
You want to know why costs are up? You! Parents who think their 12-year-old needs to play Triple A and have matching everything—breezers, mitts, buckets—just like the show. No stick is worthy that doesn’t have “pro” in the name, and your sub-150-pound player needs top-of-the-line pro stiff boots for skates when they can’t even generate enough force to warrant the investment. In reality, none of it is remotely necessary.
Parents drive the prices up. You allow companies and programs to charge you more. Parents get obsessed, they get FOMO, and they chase a dream with money, even though it’s not their dream that matters. Stop blaming hockey—it was you. Sorry, I am just tired of everyone stating the problem without realizing their part in it.
@TimCPeel20 Also, Canada has no idea how most Americans think about this media created attempt at division to attack our President. And they really should focus on bettering their country and team. “Always the bridesmaid…”
@InforumSports There is no controversy; there are only great accomplishments. You biased "journalists" are so un-American. You want to stain this great moment for our country to damage Trump. You drive division to feed your bias. Just leave; Canada is more your speed.
The Tkachuk brothers and Connor Hellebuyck on the importance of representing Team USA...
Hellebuyck: “Yeah, you know, it's one of those things, the more you say it, the more it shocks me [the U.S. had not won since 1980]. I know, as a kid, I always dreamed of watching those guys, and my big dream was to be like them one day and now, I'm in those shoes, and the next generation is looking up at us, and I want to be that role model. I want to be as good as I can on and off the ice for those kids, and I want them to know their dreams can come true. I was that young kid chasing a dream and you never know what tomorrow brings, and, you know, it can happen. Hard work, and smart work, and doing the right things. It does pay off.
Matthew Tkachuk: “My dad was lucky enough to finish in four Olympics. The best he finished was a silver in Salt Lake. And he, you know, wouldn't have traded any of those experiences for that experience, he just had in Italy for us. Like, he — to him, to my mom, to my sister, to, you know, our wives, families, everything, like it was the most incredible time, probably anybody has ever had in the sport of hockey. So, we're so lucky for the support. We're so lucky for the support from our dad. I still talk to him daily about everything hockey, life-related, and I'm shocked he actually didn't cry to be honest with you, but he was very, very proud.
Brady Tkachuk: “Yeah, I think that's the best part about our job is being able to be those role models, like Helle was saying, like the 1980 team, influenced so many players, then that 1996 World Cup team influenced our generation, and we — we even talked about it, that we had an opportunity in front of us that we could really impact the next generation of, you know, kids in the U.S., and, you know, a kid watching that game that never thought he would be playing hockey and ends up picking up a hockey stick and ends up being the next superstar in the NHL. So, we’re very fortunate and blessed to be in this position and to be a role model for kids.”
