1. Normalize (My feelings are valid )
2. Find perspective (This is hard AND it wonโt last forever)
3. Reality check expectations (I will try my best AND I may need help)

@MrGagnon2@bonstewart Agreed. Relating to programs that students are already engaged in could be a great way of getting them to consider this concept. #unboundeq
@CelesteVigneux@bonstewart I agree. Social media is a great way to engage our students and reach a number of people outside of the area we are in as well! #unboundeq
@bonstewart A4: When we refer to social media platforms, educational platforms, and search engines in class we can always remind students of the existence of algorithms. #unboundeq
@bonstewart A4: We can teach leaders & decision-makers about algorithmic bias & the impacts it has on lives & society through normalizing it in topics of conversation, in the classroom especially and reminding others of its existence so it's not forgotten. #unboundeq
@bonstewart A3: I would start by just letting my students know that when they agree to terms of privacy on apps such as Facebook, they are actually agreeing to have their information searched & sold. #unboundeq
