If you’re a parent of a Year 6 child, just go and say one nice thing to their teaching staff. We’re easily pleased, absolutely on our knees and still have a huge week to go!

I’ve said this many times before, and I know it’s unpopular, but I think the govt could give a 10% pay rise but the numbers leaving or wanting to leave the profession would stay broadly the same. Why? Govt aren’t touching core issues - too much contact time, too many toxic schools, too much workload, poor student behaviour, too much inspection stress etc. I’ve been on verge of breakdown in a school and you could have paid me 1000s to stay and it would have made zero difference. Pay rise might entice a few more in but it won’t slow down the influx out.

Today an 85 year old man came into our school to listen to readers. The way he interacted with the children and how the children responded was absolutely heart warming ❤️

Yesterday was my first day back teaching after 6 weeks off due to having knee surgery. It went so well and I’m so happy to be reunited with the class 🥰
