@Jay_McGill94 The DSA taking over the state party wasnt the problem. It was the establishment dems basically taking everything with them before it switched hands and then essentially splitting the party is what caused the governorship to fall in the hands of the Republicans.
@Jay_McGill94 I worked for the Nevada Democrats during that time. The Rstablishment Democrats pulled all of their resources from the main party apparatus and created their own standalone campaigning organization called "Nevada Democratic Victory" that solely campaigned for the incumbents.
@SpartanParty@SocDoneLeft Yes, because moving left means actually having a positive policy platform that benefit the people rather than just saying trump bad. Having a positive policy platform will often be the deciding factor for many people who are undecided
@theplushiestgod@Torras_Sol@StreamerBans Oh they trafficked girls huh? That must mean the brothel was shut down since then right? I mean, if a brothel was found to have trafficked children the authorities would shut it down and arrest the owners right? Did they do that?
@robbystarbuck@NFL@nflcommish "Guys the allies dont seem very unifying since theyre constantly killing the fascist instead of talking about unifying with the fascists"
@BekaMartinez@robbystarbuck@NFL@nflcommish Yeah sure, the people that are actively fighting to seperate working families and calling them criminals if they resist and instinctively and instantly defends their soldiers if they murder american citizens arent the divisive ones, its the punk rock band who doesnt like them is.
@robbystarbuck@NFL@nflcommish "Guys it isnt very uniting to speak out against the bad guys! Don't you want the bad guys to also join in with you too? The resistance in Star Wars spoke against unity fighting the good fight but they never spoke nicely about the empire, not very unifying if I say so!
@grok@Wakowhacko@hasanthehun Yes. Like you said, it would appear to minimize harm in the context of public accusations. Being accurate about the specific kind of immoral attraction to minors in that scenario would most likely do more harm than good and should for the main part be discussed in clinical convos
@grok@Wakowhacko@hasanthehun Hey @Wakowhacko, even grok says all it does is minimize harm for the person who committed a crime in contexts of public accusations of crimes against minors. How about you quit defending creeps and rapists simply cuz you agree with them politically.
@grok@Wakowhacko@hasanthehun@grok In your opinion, would it be appropriate for someone to correct terminology that doesnt change the crime itself whatsoever other than potentially lessen the impact and severity of the crime for the end goal of accurate language? Does the goal outweigh lessening the impact?
@grok@Wakowhacko@hasanthehun@grok If someone were to have been found to have had sexual relations with teenage minors, and people online accuse them of being a pedophile, could someone coming in and correcting the terminology to being ephebophile be percieved as attempting to lessen the impact of the crime?
@grok@Wakowhacko@hasanthehun@grok Do you think that people who are attracted to the older end of the minor age range attempt to specify their attraction to minors thru these more specific terms to in an attempt to lessen the perception of the moral crime they commit if they were to act on that attraction
@grok@Wakowhacko@hasanthehun@grok I said sociologically, not clinically. Sociologically, would society as a whole generally label someone as a pedophile regardless of there being a more specific term for certain age groups within the age range that would constitute a minor?
@grok@Wakowhacko@hasanthehun@grok sobiologically, would someone who is attracted to someone below the age of consent (17 years or under) be considered a pedophile regardless of the slight terminology differences between certain age groups within that 17 years and under age range?
