Aussie-born local boy Jon Brady continually dropping Northampton Saints rugby union team into his post-match summaries.

Great example of De (tribe above self), pulling others into his world.

Not just about Cobblers, but the whole town as a sporting entity.

The bigger we are, the stronger we are.

When they win, we win. And vice-versa.

Weekends when both teams win are something to be savoured.

Sounds like the two clubs have built a real mutual connection, players and staff bond well and do activities together.

Gets to a point where one side doesn't want to let the other down.

This connects to an anecdote I heard yesterday about accountability, where gym buddies take each others' kit to the gym.

If you suddenly don't fancy it one day, you can't just bail out or turn up late.

You've got the other guys' kit. He can't train!

Likewise, these bonding sessions between Cobblers and Saints would be pretty dull and lifeless if one team was smashing it up every week and the other was bottom of the league.

It sets a mechanism that kicks in when you hit a bad run.

You can't just go into your own bubble and feel sorry for yourselves, you're now connected to something bigger than just your own dressing room.
