Indian Aeshetics is the oldest living aesthetic system still in practice today.
I explore the rich aesthetic theory of the Natyashastra and its deep connection to Bharatanatyam in my book "Rasas in Bharatanatyam", now available on @AmazonKindle

"I think that many people have written about Hinduism, and they've tried to defend it.
But Rajiv Ji's approach was so different. He came up with a completely new methodology, a new paradigm, and a new framework for analysing what's going on. He did a root-cause analysis of all these things that had been happening at that time.
He came up with frameworks like the digestion theory and the U-turn theory. And it's a completely new school of thought. And that is so important."- Prakruti Prativadi, Author and renowned Bharatanatyam Dancer.
Infinity Foundation Mourns the Loss of Smt. Vrinda Acharya.
We are deeply saddened to share the passing of our beloved Infinity Fellow, Vrinda Acharya. A gifted classical musician and an expert on the aesthetics of music, Vrinda's contributions went far beyond her art. She was an active participant in our Swadeshi Indology conferences, an intellectual kshatriya who courageously engaged in meaningful dialogues, and played an important role in our Sanskrit Non-Translatables project.
Her presence, wisdom, and passion will be profoundly missed. We pray for her sadgati and extend our heartfelt condolences to her family.
Shocked to hear about the demise of Smt Vrinda Acharya. This is way too soon. Amazing contributions to sastriya sangeetam, swadeshi indology and dharma.🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 Om Shanti.
Myth #3 The Natyashastra was not authored by multiple unknown authors with the pen name of Bharata- another myth of Indology.
The Natyshastra was authored by one Bharatamuni and is the oldest treatise on aesthetics, drama, dance and music in the world.
My aim is to refute myths on Rasa and Bharatanatyam.
One persistent myth pushed by today's indology/humanities writers & their Indian followers - that shringara is erotic.
This Contradicts the definition of shringara in Natyashastra &treatises. Purantism nothing to do with it.
The missionary inculturation of Bharatiya arts including Bharatanatyam & Kathakali has been going on for decades.
These arts embody sacred Vedic metaphysics which don’t exist in other religions as I’ve explained @ Swadeshi Indology-3

In this brief ~1 minute clip Meenakshi Sheshadri does more adavu-s than many dancers nowadays do in an entire dance.
Hats off to her for keeping alive the adavu tradition & the abhinaya that gives this so much Bhava.
She is 60, but Bharatanatyam is timeless.
Noticed resurgence of the Hinduphobic word ‘idol’
Root cause- many wrongly think Hinduism is pagan. Pagans worship idols, Hindus do not.
Hindus have Murti ≠ idol.
Murti is a Sanskrit non-translatable
#RamMandirPranPrathistha is a worldwide event.
Every temple in the US, including local one, had Sri Ramar abhishekam, puja, sankeshepa Ramayana paaraayanam, japa, lighting of deepams and maha mangalaarati.

in fact, scientific studies, some going back decades, like this one have shown there‘s no statistical correlation between vegetarianism vs. meat consumption and height, effectively dispelling yet another Hinduphobic urban myth.
States which are on top in the list of most vegetarians mogs the states bottom of the list, in average height for men (although height is based mainly on genetics)
Myth #4 Sringara is not the Raja Rasa. Nowhere in the Natyashastra, Abhinavabharati or other treatises say this. in fact, Bharata & Abhinavagupta argue otherwise.
My aim is to refute myths on Rasa and Bharatanatyam.

Connection between Jinadasa & Vararuci, the Navaratna of Emperor #Vikramaditya:
Pradyumna Kshamashrama is mentioned as atthadaat or preceptor of #Jinadasa.
He has been identified by some as Pradyumna Suri, disciple of Yasodeva Suri, who was also the Guru of #Vararuci.
