Maybe not a bestseller, but something that one of these young ones will read and say ‘No, I am never going to be this person. I will make better choices’.
Yes, that’s what I’m writing.

I can totally relate and feel your pain a 101%. I lost my dearest in Dec. 2024 as well, and she left me with 2 boys (12 & 14), despite being physically challenged with Crutches. It's not been easy, but God has been making it easier because I can’t and will never leave, abandon or allow anyone to take custody of my kids.
We don’t eat out because I'm a good cook, we take care of the house, do the dishes and laundry, play table soccer and PlayStation together as boys to even bond better, so as not to feel their mother’s absence. I make sure they get to school and run me a call to be sure they are before leaving for work daily.
I'm also trying to heal and move on as well, but it's not as easy as people say it is. We were both married for 14years before she departed…she died in my arms! One needs to be sure of whom to move on with because you don’t know her intentions or motives, but all in all, one has to be extremely careful and look before one leaps.
It's a sad and terrible thing for one to lose his/her dearest, but what can one do? One just has to go before the other…may God strengthen and heal every broken heart!
If you come across this on your timeline, kindly help with a repost. I still need brand collaborations. Suggestions, referrals, and introductions would also be greatly appreciated.

In the last 1 months alone, I have personally spent over 300k from my pocket, after draining the NGO account for this case.
If you've ever handled something like this, you would understand the amount of money you spend for things you can't even say out loud 🤦
I paid officers money to literally be on standby to pick Veronica up when she arrived in Calabar...
Government shelters were just moving mad left right and center.
If I detail what I went through with different government agencies that should have handled all of this at zero cost...
Shout-out to Piggyvest for rainy days @piggyvest
Thankfully we now have a family that has taken her in from another geopolitical zone....
My account is redddddddd
The organization account has just 42k
We have exhausted all our offline options, that's the only reason we are coming online for help.
Please, if your organization, brand, or NGO supports teenagers, 🙏🙏
Please pick my girl, Veronica.
She was only one month into learning how to sew before her father forced her into marriage.
She is now out of that situation and has expressed a strong desire to continue pursuing a vocational skill or further her education.
We are open to collaborations and partnerships. Please reach out if you can help give her a chance to rebuild her life. 🙏
Please if you can see my tweet.
Please retweet my pinned post.🧎♀️🧎♀️🧎♀️
We are looking to raise at least 3 million naira to enable us help Veronica to literally start a new life.
I would appreciate it if you can take a few minutes to watch the video.
Nigerians, please help me. 🧎♀️🙏
On the 16th of April, I received a call from a frightened teenager named Veronica.
She told me that her father had forced her into marriage sometime in March to a man in his forties.
She had been taken all the way from Cross River State to Plateau State, where she was trapped with a complete stranger.
We spent days trying to locate her because she didn't even know where she was.
I reported the case to the Chairperson of Child Protection in Plateau State, who then linked me with Vivien Abara. 💪 Together, we rescued her from that house, even though the man had already alerted security operatives within the area to prevent her escape.
At the police station, he kept talking about the ₦600,000 and other payments he had made to her father. Meanwhile, Veronica kept crying and insisting that she did not know him and wanted nothing to do with him.
Since then, I have moved her through two different temporary shelters across two geopolitical zones in Nigeria.
Today, we need your help to raise atleast ₦3,000,000 to support Veronica's feeding, education, welfare, accommodation, and skills training as she begins rebuilding her life.

We have now found a caring family who has already taken her, but they need support to meet her daily needs and necessities.
Veronica stopped school in SS1. Before this happened, she had just begun learning tailoring. She struggles to even read and write properly because the quality of education she received was extremely poor.
She dreams of continuing her tailoring training so she can stand on her own feet, or, if possible, return to school and complete her education.
Her father and the man she was forced to marry are still threatening her.
The man has sworn not to let her go. But no law in Nigeria can force a teenager to remain married to a stranger against her will.
The Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Act (VAPP Act) also protects her from forced marriage and other forms of abuse.
As an organisation @BONCAFO , we have completely exhausted our internal resources through the rescue, relocation, return, and placement process over the past two months.
In the last three weeks alone, I have personally spent more than ₦300,000.
There are many details I cannot publicly disclose for the safety of Veronica and everyone who has helped along the way.
At this point, silence is no longer helping her case. Veronica is ready to tell the world what happened to her and plead for her father and this man to stop forcing her into a marriage she never wanted.
No teenager should ever have to endure this kind of pain, fear, and trauma.
If we had any other means, we honestly would not be here.
We are a small but growing organisation, honoured to serve as a safety net for vulnerable members of society through the support of people like you.

We have a new case coming up online today by 3:00 p.m.
It is the story of a teenager who was forced into marriage to a 40+ man by her father and transported from Cross River State to Plateau State against her will.
This is a case of forced teenage marriage that we've been handling for more than two months now.
We need financial support to help her begin this second chapter of her life🙏
When you see her video, please share it.

My mum is a primary school teacher...
Two people were apparently killed in town and by the time she called me today, parents were running into the school to pick up their children...
"Mummy, what are you still doing there?"
She said some parents had not arrived yet, so she was staying behind with the children who were waiting for their parents.
I was so stressed out....
The way I shouted that she should carry them and run away from that place.
You that they use to owe salary, or is it Popsy that has not received his gratuity yet?
Teachers are built differently, I swear 😩😩😩 My BP must have climbed up.

Nigerian history deserves more than scattered Wikipedia pages. For @1000reasons9ja, I created 1800+ dated moments of Nigerian history. You can now trace Nigeria from the 1300s to 2026.
I also added 200 more reasons against T-Pain’s administration.

Many Africans are proud of Ethiopia for being the only African nation that was never colonised.
However, they rarely say anything about how when Ethiopia defeated European colonial invaders at the Battle of Adwa in 1896, the Ethiopian army was actually marching under the banner of the Christian Orthodox Church.
This was not even a result of modern European colonisation either, as Ethiopia converted to Christianity 1200 years before transatlantic slavery and 1500 years before Africa’s colonisation, around the same time the Roman Empire was only just beginning to tolerate the faith.
In fact, Coptic Christianity in Ethiopia and ancient Egypt developed entirely independently of European colonial influence.
The Nubian kingdoms of Sudan converted to Christianity in the 6th century AD, influenced by Egyptian Coptic and Ethiopian Christian missionaries. The resulting Nubian Christianity persisted for nearly 1000 years, only gradually giving way to Islam after the 13th-14th centuries.
It was actually Islam that prevented Ethiopia and Egypt from spreading Christianity across the Sahel and into West Africa.
It’s true that Western/Protestant Christianity spread through colonial missionary activity in Sub-Saharan Africa. In places like Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and South Africa, the modern religious landscape was shaped by European missionaries and colonial institutions. But that doesn’t take away from 1500 years of indigenous African Christianity.
So, while Christianity is not originally African, it’s also not originally European, having originated in the Levant in West Asia. In fact, large parts of Africa were Christian before many parts of northern and eastern Europe were.
So, when we focus on just one screenshot of Christianity’s spread by European colonisers as the whole story, it erases a rich chapter of African history while attempting to defend it.
The bigger picture is that there was a continuous tradition of African Christianity that existed for centuries as an African phenomenon, completely independent of Europe.
Is it A LOT of work to care for a person with DS? Yes
Is that good enough reason to end a human life? No
What then should we do? Build churches, families and communities that share the burden of care and make life more bearable for those facing significant challenges.
The Christian answer has never been to eliminate the vulnerable because caring for them is costly. The Christian answer has been to bear one another’s burdens.
When Christians remained behind to care for the sick during plagues, they were not choosing the easiest path. They were choosing love.
So what we need is not fewer people who require care, but stronger communities willing to share the burden of care.
This call record between the victim & her family is 💔💔 Imagine her mum being a widow and a civil servant, where will they get N40m from?
She has been given just 5 days and they don’t even have up to 1m yet
