Hi everyone, I'm reaching out on behalf of a friend who got sponsored to speak at the UN in Turkey. Everything else except her visa application and accommodation has been payed for.
She needs a total of 600k due on Wednesday😭
CALL FOR DONATION
Ikeh Chidera, a 400-level Aerospace Engineering student of Lagos State University (@LASUOfficial ) and a member of @lasu_space , has been selected by the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) to participate in the 33rd UN/IAF Workshop on “Space Economy Opportunities for Emerging Nations” in Antalya, Türkiye, on 3–4 October 2026.
She has also been registered to attend the 77th International Astronautical Congress IAC 2026 (@IAC2026Antalya ), one of the biggest gatherings of the global space community, taking place in Antalya from 5–9 October.
UNOOSA is supporting her participation by providing an economy round-trip flight to Antalya, accommodation and breakfast for the official workshop period (2–5 October), as well as a waiver for her IAC registration fee.
But there is still a gap.
She needs support to cover the cost of her Turkish visa and accommodation for the remaining days of her stay in Türkiye, from 5–10 October.
Our target is ₦600,000.
This is where we, as a community, come in.
We are calling on friends, alumni, academics, engineers, space enthusiasts, organizations, founders, companies and everyone who believes that Nigerian young people deserve a seat at the global table to help Chidera get there.
You don't have to give a lot.
₦1,000.
₦5,000.
₦10,000.
₦50,000.
Every contribution moves her one step closer to Antalya.
And if you cannot contribute financially, you can still help.

Sometimes, helping someone reach the world starts with simply making sure their story reaches the right person.
At Space Clubs LASU, we believe that Nigerian space enthusiasts should not only dream about space, but also be present where the future of space is being discussed, designed and built.
Chidera has been given that opportunity. Let’s help her take it.
