🚨 ELON MUSK ON THE PURPOSE OF SPACEX
“I’ll tell you a little bit about the purpose of SpaceX.
We want to make Star Trek real.
We want to make Starfleet Academy real.
So that it’s not always science fiction, but one day, science fiction turns to science fact.”
🚀🌊 A month in Western Australia. A front-row view of Starship’s next chapter.
SpaceX’s Starship Recovery team spent weeks gathering critical re-entry data ahead of Starship V3’s debut flight, tracking the vehicle’s journey from Texas toward the Indian Ocean.
Watching the world’s largest rocket attempt re-entry from up close is the kind of experience most engineers only dream about.
Every flight creates data. Every failure creates lessons. And every lesson shapes the next Starship. 🔥🌌
Elon Musk explains why Grok succeeding matters so much:
“The future is overwhelmingly AI and robots”
As AI becomes vastly smarter than humans, we may not simply be able to control it forever
It’s like raising a super-genius child:
You may not be able to control that child forever, but you can still instill the values and beliefs you want them to grow up with
That’s why getting SI right matters so much
The intelligence of tomorrow will inherit the values we give it today
That is why Grok succeeding matters far beyond just building a better SI model
Elon Musk: "Your freedoms have just been eroded, year after year, with more and more government, laws and regulations, and regulatory authorities."
"So it is essential for us to unwind that process and restore your personal freedom."
“I think one of the biggest risks to civilization is the low birth rate and the rapidly declining birthrate… if people don’t have more children, civilization is going to crumble, mark my words.”
— Elon Musk
Elon Musk:
“I see a very prosperous future for Tesla. Tesla has an extremely bright future.
Hold onto your Tesla stock. It’s going to be worth a lot. That’s my bet.”
Elon Musk: "We live in the most interesting times and I think this is like 80% likely to be good and 20% bad.
And I think if we're cognizant and careful about the bad part, on balance actually, it will be the future that we want, or the future that is preferable.
I think everyone will have access to goods and services and education. And so, I think probably it leads to more human happiness."
Elon Musk on "Age of Abundance":
"With AI and robotics, this is the path to abundance for all
We’re talking about an economic explosion that redefines what it means to have a high standard of living
If you want to solve global poverty or give everyone a very high standard of living, the only way to do that is AI and robotics
That doesn’t mean it’s without risk. We have to be very careful... we don’t want to end up in a Terminator movie"
Elon Musk on why Tesla exists and the core mission behind electric cars:
”Why does Tesla exist? Why are we making electric cars? Why does it matter?
It's because it's very important to accelerate the transition to sustainable transport. And this is really important for the future of the world."
Elon Musk: “People are mistaken when they think that technology just automatically improves. It does not automatically improve. It only improves if a lot of people work very hard to make it better.
If you look at the progress in space, in 1969, we're able to send somebody to the moon. Then we had the space shuttle. The space shuttle could only take people to low Earth orbit. Then the space shuttle retired, and the United States could take no one to orbit. So that's the trend. The trend is like, down to nothing.
You look at great civilizations like ancient Egypt, and they were able to make the pyramids, and they forgot how to do that. And the Romans, they built these incredible aqueducts—they forgot how to do it."
Elon explains why the Tesla Semi is so much more energy efficient than any diesel truck:
“I’d certainly encourage people to look at our semi truck presentation
Because one of the things we emphasize with an electric semi truck is that it’s, it’s much more energy efficient than a diesel truck.
You get things like regenerative braking. So like, let’s say you’re going over a mountain range
In diesel truck, you have to actually spend a lot of money on expensive brakes going down the other side so you don’t run out of control, whereas an electric semi truck, is able to recapture the gravitational potential energy, and, when it goes down the other side, it does not overheat the brakes and in fact puts the energy back in the pack.
So, things like that are incredibly helpful for energy efficiency."
Elon Musk: "If somebody executes well, I'm a huge fan, and if they don't, I'm not.
I generally think it's a good idea to hire for talent, and drive, and trustworthiness. And I think goodness of heart is important—I undervalued that at one point.
So, are they a good person, trustworthy, and smart, talented, and hardworking. If so, you can add domain knowledge. But those fundamental traits, those fundamental properties, you cannot change."
Elon Musk: "We should really accept no racism or sexism in any form, no matter what it’s called,
If 'wokism' means judging people by race, gender, or identity - that's racism
If DEI means giving advantages based on skin color - that's racism rebranded
We need a meritocracy - where people rise based on talent and hard work, not identity politics
And free speech only means something when people you disagree with are allowed to speak”
Elon Musk explains why Starlink is basically unbreakable
“There are over 10,225 Starlink satellites in low Earth orbit right now, moving at 25 times the speed of sound, Zipping around the Earth at ~550 km altitude
Because they’re so close, latency is extremely low unlike old-school geostationary satellites at 36,000 km.
They’re all interconnected with laser links, forming a giant laser mesh network in space
Even if fiber cables get cut on the ground, Starlink keeps working perfectly
High-speed internet anywhere on Earth no matter what happens below”
