Hi! I'm Oliver Nguyen, a software engineer working with Go & JS.
I enjoy writing code and building tools to improve dev workflow! I love working in start-up environments, where I build everything from the ground up and improve them as companies grow.

And of course, pet projects for improving workflows or just for fun:
- GitHub PRs on MacOS menu bar, because I usually push a lot of PRs at work and need some way to quickly check the CI status.
- Emoji ball-drop game in Matter.js, I once put it on my Twitter banner
An indie project years ago:
- OneSidebarΒ - a browser extension for quickly navigating GitHub, before GitHub added its sidebar. My co-workers loved it and used it daily back in the day. (It no longer works today)
I have a couple of open-source projects in Go:
- ezpkg .io - Collection of packages to make writing Go code easier
- iter.json - A minimal JSON parser and transformer in Go
- git-pr - Submit your commits as Stacked PRs
Here are some of my recent articles:
- Implement a distributed state machine with Redis to migrate billions of records
- Upgrade your scripts using 'direnv' and 'run' script
- Working with Stacked PRs using git-branchless, git-autofixup, and git-pr
Along the way, I share my knowledge and write about software development, covering topics like tooling, architecture, and best practices. Learning something new every day is exciting. Writing helps me dive deeper into topics. And sharing makes the journey more meaningful!
@bzagrodzki Hi, I'm Oliver Nguyen
I created a few open-source tools (octox, git-pr) and sharing knowledge at my blog https://t.co/8SvIpLu0nc
Happy to connect! π
How to use 'direnv' and 'run' script to maximize your team productivity? π
My latest article shares insights about how we effectively manage scripts as a team with a lot of tips and best practices! πͺ
