@algern0n79@elonmusk@Geisterjger4 On the contrary, if that’s the only technical challenge to overcomex then that’s a great position to be in. It’s an engineering challenge that can be solved with time.
@wholemars $8000 in a savings account @ 5% interest is $33/m or into investments at 8% returns is $53/m so subscription makes more sense from my perspective, but that’s at $99/m. If it goes up then outright might make more sense. Only anything less than 5 year payback is worth it imo
@HiltonHonors @MerkinAnnie Signed with a -Mari even though this is clearly a bot , no issues with using bots to find potentially negative sentiments on tagged posts (though this one is a false positive), but don’t pretend some human sat there writing this message, just own it.
@josephamiller @all_in_tok Reminds me of the star trek episode (next gen) where they come across a group of humans who decided to abandon modern technology and live a balanced life growing their own food and gathering supplies the old fashioned way and being happier overall
@SawyerMerritt Starlink is $120/month, that’s $1440/year, so you only get 3 years of starlink before you’ve spent $5k per household.
Fibre can last for decades and is typically lower cost than starlink. Though does need to be maintained.
Wouldn’t call it a clear cut no brainer.
@Kasperfc91@SawyerMerritt@SpaceX The graph isn’t using consistent time data points, 5 data points and columns for 2022 but only 3 for 2023. Impressive growth none the less
@heydave7 This is not representative of the general public though in any way, most of your followers are tech savvy and forward thinkers, much more likely to use chatgpt/bard to replace many traditional google searches
It’s still interesting however..
@wholemars Closed minded thinking. If you watch the whole interview you’ll glean some really amazing use cases and I think this will help tremendously to recreate human connection at distance. It just needs to mature as a product - 3-5 years
