دفتر رسانه‌ای شاهزاده رضا پهلوی با انتشار بیانیه‌ای با اشاره به زادروز مجیدرضا رهنورد در روز ۲۶ خرداد، مسابقات جام جهانی فوتبال و گردهمایی‌ها، مراسم‌ها و فعالیت‌های گوناگونی در سراسر جهان برگزار خواهد شد، نوشت: «بر همه ایرانیان میهن‌دوست و آزادی‌خواه است که با حضوری باشکوه در این برنامه‌ها، پرچم ملی شیر و خورشید را برافرازند و یاد پهلوان خراسان و همه جاویدنامان انقلاب ملی ایران را گرامی بدارند.»

در این بیانیه آمده است: «هم‌زمان، مسابقات جام جهانی فوتبال فرصتی کم‌نظیر برای رساندن صدای ملت ایران به جهانیان فراهم می‌کند. از این فرصت تاریخی بهره بگیریم؛ پرچم شیر و خورشید را در ورزشگاه‌ها، خیابان‌ها و میدان‌های شهرها به اهتزاز درآوریم و تصاویر جان‌فدایان راه آزادی را در برابر چشم جهانیان قرار دهیم.»

دفتر رسانه‌ای شاهزاده رضا پهلوی همچنین نوشت: «هم‌میهنان ساکن آمریکای شمالی، درون و بیرون ورزشگاه‌ها، پرشمار، متحد و پرخروش حضور یابید و صدای رسای ملت ایران باشید و خواست و اراده یک ملت متحد برای بازپس‌گیری میهن خود را بار دیگر به نمایش بگذارید.»
