Em Lim (@sea_en_emily) is a non binary queer biologist and scientific diver! They're studying sea cucumbers in the Côté lab, an animal they love so much they cried tears of joy while holding one. Em is at @BamfieldMSC this summer studying the role of cukes in nutrient cycling!
Jo Enns is a queer MSc student studying evolutionary ecology in the Williams lab! Her project looks into the biparental care behaviour of the European starling. When she isn’t bothering birds, she can be found playing animal crossing or staring at her mountain of video data
In celebration of #LGBTQSTEM Day, #SFU’s BISC grad student Diversity and Inclusion Committee would like to spotlight some of our fellow queer graduate students! Check out these awesome scientists! #LGBTQSTEM#prideinscience#STEM
Steven Brownlee (@sfbrownlee) is a gay freshwater ecologist! I’m modeling the invasion of dreissenid mussels in BC, working in the Côté and Moore labs. I can usually be found hunched in front of a laptop, pretending that looking at lakes from space still counts as fieldwork!
The @Grieslab stands in solidarity with BLM, the Black community, and those opposing anti-Black and all other forms of racism both in the 🇺🇸 and 🇨🇦. 1/7
Be careful out there, #pizzarat is going to be hangry!!!!!! @_Rationalizer_ is interviewed about the effect of the covid-19 shutdowns on local rodent populations (https://t.co/K2WKhDbJFZ).
@zuke19374267 @Snoozriel That'd be lovely! We are essentially presenting queens with 2 different scents to see which they prefer! So I'd love to know if you see them in the scented (s) versus control (c) boxes!
