HOW SUDAN COOKED THE UAE AT THE UN GENERAL ASSEMBLY
“You should be ashamed, your words are not worth the strap of a sandal!” declared Sudan's UN Ambassador Al-Harith Idriss, during a tense war of words with a UAE diplomat at the 81st UN General Assembly.
The showdown erupted after the Emirati representative attempted to delegitimise the Sudanese government by labeling it the "Port Sudan Authority".
Although Sudan's capital is Khartoum, it was virtually emptied after the UAE-backed Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia started its war on the country in April 2023.
But by 2025, Sudan's state army liberated Khartoum, leading to the return of millions of citizens, the government and many diplomatic missions.
"The reference to the Sudanese government as the government of Port Sudan is inappropriate for this global platform," Idriss stated.
In addition, Idriss cited UN reports that confirm the country's support for the RSF, stating, "the UAE’s continued claims of innocence and neutrality will not succeed in masking its crimes."
Just look at the replies. The Ornstein pre-AI memes era were cultural heritage. The kind we should print & send into space for an alien civilization to find. The true golden pre COVID era. Life peaked & we realised it after it was all gone.
