Everybody keeps asking:
"What are the top 20% designers doing differently??"
Bruh, I really wish I could find a single answer to these questions.
But I don't.
It's a whole lot and this is why this aspect of the industry is usually not talked about enough.
Many designers are winging it.
No system, No structure, No strategy.
Ahhhhh❗
You'll always live in anxiety.
The best thing I can do Rn is create an awareness to the problem many people don't notice they have.
And maybe create a Mentorship that explores all these in detail.
What do you think?
It's 2026 you cannot afford to sell just designs anymore❗
The market has shifted
You need to sell:
- Marketing knowledge
- Creative Direction
- System thinking
-Storytelling
- Judgment
- Strategy
- Taste
If you want to build a successful personal brand you need these 3 type of Contents;
Growth Contents: Banger post, attractive visuals/designs, etc.
Authority Content: Showing how good you are, positioning yourself as an expert.
Authenticity Contents: Posting relatable and vulnerable Contents.
Many people focus only on growing their audience and making banger posts without attracting buyers.
Or only create authority contents to an audience of 10 people ❌
Or create authenticity posts that are vulnerable and relatable, this also gets you followers but without authority content nobody will trust you enough to buy from you.
You should do all 3 if you want to attract clients and build a large following.
If a client reaches out and you are not sure if they are local or international clients.
Always ask: "What currency is most convenient for you"
This saves you from having payment clashes or charging with the wrong currency.
If a client reaches out to me and I discover the level of impact my designs can potentially give them,
Trust me to raise my prices accordingly.
This is one of the reasons why doing a background check on your clients is very important❗
Yes you can have a base/floor price.
But your celling price should be considered "infinite"
That means it shouldn't be fixed.
And can vary depending on the value of the project, the value of the client and your value as a designer.
@Uzzyworld1 They are very meticulous with how they study designers page.
If a client reaches out to you just know you have won an unseen battle between other designers.
Clients don't randomly send you a DM.
They have gone through your profile, checked out your posts and contents.
Then decided you are a good fit for their current needs.
They come with a level of certainty you currently don't have of them
This is why you should mirror them.
