Another UK Mosque terrorist attack with worshippers in it. No outrage in UK media, no condemnation from the PM, no wall to wall coverage, no mention of explosion of anti-Muslim hate & Islamophobia on BBC, Daily Mail and Sky, no mention by Labour or Tory leaders, no reference to how British Muslims fear for their lives. This comes days after hate marchers incited violence against British Muslims at ‘Unite the Kingdom’ rally right outside 10 Downing Street - no action by the govt.

In the last few days, my sons’ cousins, Shahrez & Shershah (Aleema Khan’s sons), have been abducted from their homes in front of their young children & held in prison.
Their other cousin Hassan Niazi, has been held in a military prison for over a year.
The government has also threatened my sons Sulaiman and @Kasim_Khan_1999 with arrest if they travel to Pakistan to visit their father.
No state should be allowed to target families to settle political scores.

Just watched a horrible “ interview” of my friend @sherryrehman with @SkyYaldaHakim for @SkyNews

Let me acknowledge the generosity of my friend Sherry who knew in advance how biased and prejudiced Yalda is but still chose to present Pakistan’s point of view before an extremely hostile anchor.
From start to finish the entire 13.32 long interview looks more like a boxing ring rather than a TV studio where you are really trying to get the perspective of the person you are trying to interview.
While the entire global media talked about massive disinformation splashed all over the place by Indian mainstream and social media at the behest of Indian state, Yalda had the nerve to dub a few instances of fake news on behalf of Pakistan and declare that “ misinformation was on both sides” in a bid to create a false equivalence, when there was none.
Each time Yalda asked her a question and Sherry started answering her, Yalda would interrupt her with another question with the clear aim to get her rattled.
If you watch the interview you would conclude that it was an agenda driven interview by Yalda with a clear agenda to stop Sherry from expressing her perspective. At times, it would appear as she was not interviewing Sherry but giving her an interview with the aim to spit out anti-Pakistan talking points given to her.
She would constantly distract and deflect her during the interview. When Sherry wanted to talk about Samjhota Express, Yalda would deflect her to Balochistan. While Sherry wanted to detail the measures Pakistan made to get off the grey list, Yalda wanted to highlight why Pakistan got on the grey list.
When Sherry wanted to talk about the state sponsored terrorism by India and talk about Kulbhushan Yadav, she would bring in the names of the terror groups, Pakistan has fought against.
It is clear that while interviewing Pakistanis, she ends up producing White Noise.
Full marks to the generosity and congeniality of Sherry Rehman who didn’t lose her cool despite constant and consistent provocations by Yalda throughout the interview.
