On April 4, Russian forces struck the city of Kryvyi Rih in Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region. According to regional authorities, 18 people were killed — including 9 children. Dozens more were injured in the residential area of the city.
We knew it, but seeing the data laid out – it's still shocking: higher taxes for most, deep cuts to Medicaid & SNAP—all to fund tax breaks for the top 1%.
It's difficult to fully grasp the scale of the con being perpetrated on Americans right now by the Trump administration.
In the early hours of 1 March, Russian forces struck a hospital in Kharkiv city. The roof and wards were damaged, and four patients were injured. Reportedly, more than 50 patients had to be evacuated.
Seattle goes Dutch with a new bicycle intersection 🚲
Seattle’s first Dutch-style intersection has separate bike lanes and concrete islands that encourage wider turns so drivers can more easily see pedestrians and cyclists.

All children have a right to clean air, a healthy environment & a safe planet.
This #WorldHealthDay, we stand with the health community & call for a rapid, just transition away from fossil fuels for the sake of children's health & futures.

We're in the midst of an extreme heatwave in Western Australia.
The top 15 hottest places in the world over the past 24 hours were all in WA.
This is scary heat. Heatwaves are linked to fossil-fuel driven climate change. We can’t afford projects like Woodside’s Burrup Hub
Decades of health effects data reveals that about half (42% to 47%) of all lung cancer deaths are attributed to #AirPollution exposure.
I would argue that air pollution exposure over a lifetime and in even a few recurring peak events (e.g., wildfire, volcano, neighbors burning waste or green wood) likely increases the cancer risk... as we know they trigger aneuploidy (i.e., DNA chromosomal damage and other DNA damage that is present before cancer tumors grow).
How do toxins in air, water, and food pollution damage our DNA?
There are a lot of things that can lead to oxidative stress and other imbalances that damage our DNA health. However, we breathe roughly 20,000 times each day at rest inhaling and exhaling about 13 kilograms of air. There's no doubt that our exposure to pollution, pesticides, and certain chemicals in our air, water and food are known to increase the risk of aneuploidy and other abnormal DNA formation by interfering with the normal process of cell division or by causing DNA damage that, if not properly repaired, results in abnormal chromosome numbers.
From the research I have read over the last 16 years, aneuploidy and other unusual DNA formation (the technical term for those wanting to search themselves is 'aberrant DNA methylation') when our cells regrow is present (a precursor) in most types of cancer (but not all).

On the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, let’s help girls everywhere pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and math. Our world is better with their ideas and perspectives.
