A welcome boost for struggling EFL clubs after a rescue package was finally agreed with the Premier League.
League One clubs will each receive at least £375,000, while League Two clubs will get £250,000.
The big question is will it be enough?
Our Government has a problem with football. The EFL just announced a £50m aid package from the Prem League - the Gov says it’s taken too long and shows a governance issue. It was the government's responsibility, not the PL and they went missing - uniquely refusing to help.
"Where they've made decisions in every other sector, they've provided a bailout package but bizarrely they've decided not to do that with football." #NCAFC's chairman on the govt's "unacceptable" and unfair treatment of EFL clubs.

EFL clubs have been "abandoned" by government with their exclusion from £300m of emergency funding for sports, says @Coventry_City CEO

Huge generosity to Rugby Union (which is great for them) but couldn’t some of this cash have also gone to help out EFL clubs? The PL bailout may not be enough to save many of them. Government support would have been a life saver.
"I think it's improbable that clubs will not go to the wall by the end of December and I think it highly likely that ten to a dozen clubs will have gone to the wall by the end of January.” - @Boro chairman Steve Gibson

⏯️ I welcome the £300M Sport Winter Survival Package, but we need more of a focus on @EFL community clubs ⚽ My question to @HuddlestonNigel@DCMS in the @HouseofCommons today ⬇️
“It seems as though there’s been progress but there is no certainty… While I’m hopeful, I’m not exactly holding my breath.” - @LincolnCity_FC's chairman on the latest EFL bailout talks

👌🏻 Jake is spot on. On Monday we debated support for EFL clubs - we need to help clubs like @BarrowAFC, get fans back in, and in doing so support the town and community that they champion.
Football clubs in the @EFL, almost all of them the social cornerstone of the towns and cities they bear the names of, now stand on the brink of financial collapse.
Here is why I am calling on the Government to #savetheEFL
With this week's #vaccination news, there is light at the end of the tunnel in the fight to #letfansin. The government must ensure no EFL clubs go under before then - a PAYE holiday is needed to see our clubs through.

They don't know what they're doing.
@OliverDowden has given £1.5billion to nightclubs, modelling agencies and opera houses, while football is left to “sort itself out”. Historic clubs with far greater cultural and community value could now be lost forever.

"This is a hot potato which has been thrown from government to the Premier League and no-one is doing anything." – Fleetwood Town's Steve Curwood calls for an end to “political manoeuvring” over financial support for EFL clubs.
