@DantasAnkelles@JoshuaTookes It was a brute force marketing scheme in the early 2000s. Remember, this was marketed towards children that don't know any better. If you claim your guy is cooler than all the other guys, even if he isn't, it's more likely to stick because kids are impressionable.
@Skitelz@Uniting_ps You think this is a detriment, but if it was mainly wide open angles there'd be nothing but snipers everywhere because sniping is braindead easy. Then everyone would complain it's too open. The map is fine the way it is.
@Scribbles69@ChikenAU Plenty of solutions that would be better than just pinpointing the exact location of the person who killed you, not to mention solutions that would encourage more team play and communication. I guarantee you they remove it before launch or a few patches after.
@Scribbles69@ChikenAU Nah, there are plenty of systems to counter snipers. Bullet crack direction, tracers, vapor trails, muzzle profile, or death camera pointing in the direction of the shot but not giving off exact location. Some of those might be in the game, but you def can 3D ping with binocs.
@i2cjak My dumbass didn't know what to do so I just dealt with it. Then a year later I built my first PC with a Phenom 955 BE and struggled to get it to boot because I didn't put the standoffs on! PC life was a struggle without internet access lmao
@i2cjak Single core Athalon and told me it was a dual core. I couldn't play Black Ops (the first game I ever preordered) because it couldn't even boot in a single core. I was devastated. The owner refused to give me a dual core and swore that I had a single core Athalon.
@silversatyr@BeanJuiceStudio That's a stupid way to look at it. The easiest solution is to keep volume low to avoid destroying people's ears with the intro cinematics before they can even adjust the volume. Add a notification that volume is initially set low. Problem solved for literally everyone.
@Operatorsan1776@WARDOGS Should point out that it's modified UE5. Pretty sure (not 100%) that they stripped out Lumen and Nanite, the biggest performance hitters of UE5.
In fact, UE5 is actually a great engine, it's just plagued by bullshit nobody really needs. Arc Raiders and The Finals both run great.
@bigndtalljames@xSaio I've never understood this argument. You don't really move your gun to aim down your sights. It's more so you move your head to line up with the sights. There's hardly any movement of the weapon involved, if any.
@METAPCs If you mean 120fps base framerate with x2 framegen, then framegen all the way. It adds maybe 2-4ms to frame time, which is basically negated by the smoother overall framerate.
@gnome_sayinn@MoiDawg Greyzone Warfare, Stalker 2, and Oblivion Remaster (the only 3 games I've played that use this system) all run like absolute horse shit. Arc Raiders on the other hand runs really well for a UE5 game, but that's because they modified the engine to remove both Lumen and Nanite.
@gnome_sayinn@MoiDawg Every game that uses both systems ends up running like horse shit, and not even just frame rate wise. Input latency jumps up to a minimum of 40ms, upwards of 60 or more which makes framegen basically unusable, which is ironic considering you need framegen to get decent FPS
@VGWeaponryIRL I genuinely don't know why, but I have such a soft spot for the Daewoo series. Huge fan of the K7, but I'm also fond of both the K2 and the carbine. I'm surprised there aren't more Daewoo firearms in games and media in general.
