@TheRigLib@s8mb standardization =/= deciding what can or can’t be made.
we have regulations defining the size and shape of your home’s electrical outlets too. is this not the same thing?
@Crochetelo_ i work at a clothing store and have some version of this conversation every day lmao. yes, a man can wear these plain unisex wool socks. yes, this pink carhartt beanie says “for men and women” on the tag. no, it’s not a mistake.
like cmon people, we can wear *whatever we want*
@Autistic_Lauren niche but there’s this like brushed aluminum material that some stair-handrails are made of. sliding my hands along this kinda material makes me shiver and yawn. it’s so weird.
sometimes touching paper does something similar to me, especially if my skin is rather dry.
@GraphCrimes i paid for matlab because it was worth the ~$99 to avoid using my university’s browser-based virtual desktop that had all the licensed software on it 😭
@oganessonmoder @neinmuse elder gen Z here. i watched as my school passed out laptops to everyone younger than me and then almost immediately cut all of the computer literacy stuff i learned out of the curriculum because “the kids nowadays all use their laptops all day, surely they just know this stuff”
@JoINrbs this probably strongly depends campus to campus. at my alma mater this is a totally reasonable way to live as the state and the university both have reliable bus systems. few places outside of the high-rent downtown/university area are particularly walkable though.
@JoINrbs college housing in general is really toxic. even if you wanna get out of the dorms for your next year you have to know in like sep/oct so you can start applying to the local off-campus options. (where you may still be living on top of each other bc rent is through the roof)
@ChoctawDoge @halphelt isn’t using AI-generated data to train the AI, like, the entire issue at hand here? none of these datasets are perfect replications of reality, and the imperfections become magnified and exxagerated with each round of training.
@lingerie_addict I’m a bralette wearer out of personal preference and even then, I’ve noticed they’ve been cost cut more and more since they initially got trendy. Worse materials, worse construction, worse all-around. With my newer bralettes it’s like I might as well be wearing nothing. 🥲
@historicalfits@lingerie_addict obsessed with this post. i learned recently that i experience the “pictures in my head” version of aphantasia (literally always thought that was just a metaphor people used???) but i can imagine smells. for me these charts are actually extremely helpful lol
