Another thing that devastates me about #Obsession is how quickly everyone judges Nikki.

Sarah and Ian keep telling Bear that he shouldn't have to deal with her, that she's not his responsibility, and that she's taking advantage of him, as if they aren't her friends too. The moment Nikki starts acting out of character, no one asks why. They just assume the worst.

Meanwhile, Bear is never questioned or judged. Nikki loses all her agency and autonomy, yet she's the one everyone blames.

The entire premise of #Obsession revolves around consent, stolen autonomy, and victim blaming, yet I’ve seen countless people excuse Bear’s selfishness and emotional immaturity while blaming Nikki for the consequences of a wish she never made.

And the saddest part? His first instinct wasn’t to undo the wish. It was to tweak it. To get a version that worked better for him, not for her. Never for her.

That says a lot more than people realize.
