But also, other medical organizations should acknowledge the evidence is weak.

The AMA may have said that the evidence was weak, but they still has multiple official policies supporting GAC and they’ve shown no interest in repealing them.

@PrishaMosley That NBC News statement is wrong. Certain medical organizations like the AAP and WPATH absolutely recommend surgeries for minors “on a case by case basis”. Hence why it’s more common than they’re making it out to be…
@peopleunite Lawsuits alone may not be enough to stop it since blue states have enshrined protections for these procedures in to law, requiring insurers to cover it and banning them from raising premiums on it..
