Utah is expected to grow from approximately 1 million households in 2021 to 1.3 million households by 2030, meaning there is a sure need for #childcare support services to help parents who would like to pursue career and educational opportunities: https://t.co/PqASaEgkKA
The market for childcare in the U.S. is a failure. This is a thread to give some context to that statement.
First, prices. The price of child care has risen faster than prices overall (even for things like housing) over the past twenty years. It's not close.

Our food of the month tope donation need right now is peanut butter. Our food pantries also need ramen, pasta, canned soup, canned vegetables, breakfast cereal, and canned meals like chili, ravioli & beef stew. Our Thrift Store needs camping gear, bedding, and dishes.
I don't think people fully appreciate just how many child care slots are dark right now due to staffing shortages -- meaning yet-longer waiting lists for parents, and yet-more stress on remaining staff.
