This photo was taken in 2006 by Stephanie Sinclair. She named the girl as Ghulam Haider. Even the most ill informed expert on Afghanistan will tell you that Ghulam Haider is exclusively a male name.

This scene was created by Sinclair, this wasn’t during an engagement or during a marriage party. Sinclair told them to sit there on that cushion, with that curtain in the background, and then she took the photo.

She then made up the story, made up the names (couldn’t even come up with a female name), and then spread the news far and wide for her own personal selfish interests + aligned national interests.

She then received big awards for this photograph, because it supported the American occupation’s pretext of saving Afghan women from brutal savage Afghan men.

She was also involved in the Parwana debacle of 2021, where she helped setup a fake marriage between a man and his niece (who was a child). She then went and “saved the girl” from the evil men that were trying to destroy her, and got international coverage for it, mainly because now, their NGOs were saving helpless women from evil Afghan men after the military solution failed.

Her organization is called Too Young to Wed (TYTW). As of 2026, they are still operating in Afghanistan, but keeping a low profile.

Q. What is the ruling on playing football? Is it permissible to use it as one of the means of Dawah to Allah? And what is the ruling regarding one who uses it as evidence to prohibit playing football on the grounds that it involves imitating the disbelievers?

A. As for playing football, one should know what its consequences are, and one should understand the reason it was brought to the Muslims and to Muslim lands. The ball itself and playing it are not prohibited in themselves, and if you set aside an hour or half an hour for it to refresh yourself and then become active for reading, that is acceptable, if you do not have work. But if you are a farmer or you have a job, then you should begin with your work, for that itself is considered exercise. If you do not have work, then there is no harm.
However, the enemies of Islam brought football, and the rulers of the Muslims brought football in order to divert the youth from learning the Book and the Sunnah. This has occurred in Dammaj, in Wusab, and in many lands.

Thus, the rulers of the Muslims and the enemies of Islam have objectives behind football, cinema, and other things: to divert the attention of the youth. What a scandal it is, Muslim youth know football, cinema, late-night gatherings, and plays, but they do not know artillery, machine guns, and other forms of material power.

So football was introduced to divert the youth from learning beneficial knowledge, to distract the youth from what governments are doing, and to divert the youth from the advance of the enemies of Islam upon our lands and countries. For this reason, and in view of its consequences, we advise keeping away from it.

Football is not among the means of da‘wah (Islamic propagation), and none make it a means of da‘wah except the bankrupt.
