@kdpisda@caleb_friesen@Torus_Motion That’s the crux of our design simplicity. With a Lego based assembly design, and pre-wound coils, automation is not a constraint.
Hardware houses have replaced hacker houses as my new favourite Indian startup subtype.
Torus Motion (@Torus_Motion) is building globally competitive axial flux motors out of a 3,200 sq ft house in Chennai. The TV room is a board room. Assembly and QC happens in the living room. One of the bedrooms is used for inventory storage.
They have plans to move to a much larger 10,000 sq ft facility to scale manufacturing from 100 motors per month to 2,000.
Another part of the Torus story that I love is how it happened. The three founders were building unmanned ground vehicles for defence (MARS UGV) when they realised that India was almost entirely dependent upon China and Europe for motors. They looked around and couldn't find suitable Indian alternatives, so they threw up their hands and said, "Fine, we'll just do it ourselves." They spent five years developing homegrown axial flux technology that outperforms global alternatives in both cost and capability. Today, Torus Motion is the first Indian company to successfully commercialise and mass-produce axial flux motors for the electric mobility sector.

@motordave2 That’s one part. But here, the first problem is the road condition. That too an highway.
And on visibility, it’s always tough at cruising speeds to adjust. Imaging riding at 60, you either dodge by changing lane, or reduce speed suddenly. What next? High chances of chainaccident
@SudsG5 T4 is for air India and is usually empty most of the time. You can’t find T2 like this, where all the other operators like indigo, spice jet, etc are placed.
@suryadeva78@UPSC_EDU Agreed. TN can build additional check dams and lakes. TN already has Grand Anicut to store water. Water only goes to sea when the river flows in excess and when Anicut is full, like the exact way Karnataka releases water during excess rainfall for it’s own dam safety.
@suryadeva78@UPSC_EDU Dam construction requires natural arrangement like a narrow valley with high hills. Besides TN is downstream. It’s geographical constraints basically.
@SantoshKbs@UPSC_EDU Hence, dam is always built with consent from all river sharing states with common understanding that what ever is stored, gets shared as per total area of the river flowing in the state.
@SantoshKbs@UPSC_EDU Now Imagine if there was no dam in first place. What would have happened then? Both states would have got their share as per nature’s flow. Isn’t it?
@Vijaynarain This song is really special. Please make an album video song like Kalyani song or atleast make an AI video song bro.
Make use of this gem. It’s already in loop mode for many. Capitalise it asap before it dilutes.
