Practice mode doesn't mention this anywhere, but there are moves that has backturn state built into them that activates before the move itself. Most of the moves that puts you on BT work like this:

Move happens > character enters BT. These moves can be parried because you're parrying the move before the character entering the backturn state

But in Xiaoyu's case, it is the opposite. It's backturn first, then the move happens, this move is not the only one but some characters has them like

Lili's standing 3 (stop with the ankle bs)
Reina's b4
Xiaoyu's b3

This isn't a bug, it's just that you can't parry BT kicks

@SebboTK no, I meant an attack button. In some games, you can't just hold back or db you need to also hold the x button. I think you'd hate playing those games lol

@SebboTK the inconsistency is coming from inputs, or lack thereof, from your controller. You have the power to block or not block. I get where you're coming from. Getting hit when you're getting the correct read is annoying, but tekken is more than just one good read. It's also execution
