Heads up: The U.S. Postal Service has proposed a new rule that would allow it to refuse to deliver mail ballots in states that don't turn over voter rolls to the federal government.
Democrats and voting-rights groups say the proposed rule is clear evidence that the Trump admin is trying to unconstitutionally intrude on state-run elections.
Remember the 2024 campaign, when this painted clown accused Biden of having virtually drained the SPR for political reasons, and repeatedly promised to refill it “right to the top" immediately upon returning to office - - a pledge he reiterated during his 2025 inaugural?
The US emergency oil reserve has fallen to its lowest level in 43 years.
This is the lowest it's been since 1983 when the reserve was still being filled.
This CNN photo seems to confirm that Trump is punishing the Kennedy Family and America for making him remove his name from the Kennedy Center—a name he put up illegally, knowing it was illegal to do so—by covering *Kennedy's* name via a *permanent* tarp.
I hope he burns in Hell.
Fred Rogers met with a child psychologist every week for 22 years to build his show. She shaped everything: every script, prop, and song. The whole point was to give a child's nervous system time to slow down. In 1984, a single regulatory decision ended all of it.
The psychologist was Dr. Margaret McFarland, who co-founded the Arsenal Family and Children's Center alongside Benjamin Spock and Erik Erikson. She and Rogers understood that the prefrontal cortex in children, the part of the brain that controls impulse, emotion, and attention, takes decades to fully develop. At the start of every episode, Rogers tied his sneakers and changed his sweater while children settled in. Those pauses were intentional, designed to help a child's nervous system shift into a calmer, more focused state.
What ended it had nothing to do with child development science. In 1984, Reagan's FCC chairman Mark Fowler abolished the advertising limits that had protected children's programming from commercial pressure. Toy companies moved within months. Between 1984 and 1985, cartoons tied to toy lines increased by 300%, from a handful of shows to more than 40 animated series. In almost every case, the toy was designed first. The cartoon was built to sell it.
Researchers later put numbers to what parents were already noticing. A 2011 study in Pediatrics from the University of Virginia tested 60 four-year-olds across three groups: one watching SpongeBob, which cuts scene every 11 seconds; one watching a slow PBS show, which cuts scene every 34 seconds; and one drawing. Nine minutes later, all three took tests on attention, impulse control, short-term memory, and problem-solving. The SpongeBob group scored significantly worse across every measure.
In the 1970s, children began watching television around age 4. Research from pediatrician Dimitri Christakis found that by 2009, the average age of first screen exposure had dropped to 4 months, as the content got faster and the audience got younger. Researchers separately found that each additional hour of daily screen time at ages 1 or 3 raised the risk of attention problems at age 7 by 9%.
WIN: A judge dismissed a far-right lawsuit seeking access to Georgia’s election night reporting hub, which aggregates and publishes county vote totals.
Voting rights advocates warned that granting access could open the door to partisan interference and undermine confidence in elections.
Sen. Jon Husted voted against two amendments that would have directed federal investigations into insurance company denials of medical care — votes cast after the same industry contributed more than $679,000 to his campaigns and as ACA insurers raise Ohio rates by as much as 37%. The DOJ is attempting a cover-up.
I discovered a quiet policy change that now lets the AG approve prison transfers at their discretion.
This comes after they moved Ghislaine Maxwell to a prison that doesn't allow sex offenders. This is an attempt to cover their tracks. I will keep demanding answers.
The Trump administration took the names of nine enslaved people off a memorial at George Washington's home. A judge ordered them back.
That memorial sits at the site of George Washington's presidential home in Philadelphia, and the order to restore it came Friday from U.S. District Judge Angel Kelley in Boston.
Her ruling forces the Interior Department to put back the slavery exhibit there, along with the signs and displays it pulled from parks and monuments nationwide because, in the government's own words, they "do not align with its preferred narrative."
The fight comes down to one question: who gets to be in the story of America?
This administration decided it could delete the people it found inconvenient. The judge said no.
It started with an executive order Trump signed in March 2025, "Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History."
The order claimed a "revisionist movement" had smeared the country as "inherently racist, sexist, oppressive, or otherwise irredeemably flawed," and sent the Interior Department into the parks to scrub anything that fit. It named one target directly: Independence National Historical Park in Philadelphia, where the nation declared that all men are created equal.
That is where you see what the words meant. The Park Service took down the memorial to the nine people Washington enslaved at his presidential home.
Those were the same people who cooked and cleaned and were owned by the first president while he ran the new republic. Their names stood on that wall until this administration decided visitors should not have to read them.
Another judge had already ordered that one restored. She compared the government's claim that it gets to decide which history is true to the Ministry of Truth in Orwell's "1984."
Kelley went wider. Her order swept in exhibits on abolition, immigration, labor, women's suffrage, civil rights, and the climate, quietly pulled from sites including Fort Sumter and the Grand Canyon.
She did not soften it. The government, she wrote, had tried to "rewrite the Nation's history with a white-out pen," telling "half-truths" about the country it claims to honor.
The Interior Department's entire response was to call her a "liberal activist judge" and threaten an appeal.
It had no answer for the white-out pen, because there isn't one. Slavery happened. The people who built this country existed, and their names were carved into a wall in Philadelphia until someone here decided to erase them.
America turns two hundred and fifty this year. This administration's idea of honoring that was to pick which Americans were allowed in the story.
The white-out pen is going back in the drawer. The names go back on the wall, by the Fourth of July, by court order.
I step into a cafe where I work some mornings. Hadn’t read the news yet. The barista is Ukrainian. My friendly ‘morning!’ is met with a weak smile. I know what it means.
‘What happened?’
‘Pechersk Lavra is burning.’
Imagine waking every morning to the dread of finding out who Russia has killed, what Russia has destroyed in the night. Every day, for over four years.
I’ll say here what I said to her: this is Russia losing. Blind rage and destruction because they have no viable strategy, no path to victory. It doesn’t make this any better, it doesn’t bring lost loved ones or national treasures back. But it is true. Fascist Russia will destroy itself. And Ukraine will survive, will win, will rebuild. You are not alone.
The photo above is from 1941. Soviet saboteurs destroyed the Dormition Cathedral of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, taking with it a large part of our history. It was then that the magnificent tomb of Prince Konstanty Ostrogski, who was buried there, was also destroyed. Incidentally, he was the one who defeated the Muscovite army at the Battle of Orsha in the 16th century.
Ostrogski’s tomb was restored and reinstalled only recently. In recent years, the Lavra has also been reclaiming the Ukrainian history that russia tried to erase. The patronage of Mazepa and the Cossack elite is once again being recognized. It was their contributions that helped build and expand the Lavra.
This process of restoring our own history is deeply threatening to an empire. It is about mental decolonization. Naturally, the empire rages against it, sensing its inevitable end in Ukraine.
The photo below shows the aftermath of last night’s strike. 2026.
We will endure. We will prevail.

Efforts to deal with the aftermath of the Russian strikes are ongoing in Kyiv, as well as in Kharkiv. Last night, the Russians launched more than 60 missiles at the capital alone. In total, 70 missiles and 611 drones were used against Ukraine. As of now, 28 people have been reported injured and four killed in the capital. My condolences to all their families and loved ones. A Russian strike on the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra set the Dormition Cathedral on fire – a church whose history dates back to the 11th century. And this is one of Russia’s most serious crimes against Christian culture to date. The State Emergency Service has already extinguished the fire on the cathedral’s roof. In Kharkiv, the Russians carried out a repeat strike against our rescuers as they were putting out a fire at the site of an earlier strike on an industrial facility. So far, tragically, five people have been confirmed killed. My condolences to all their families and loved ones. Nine people have been injured. In Dnipro, Russia struck the grounds of a railway station, a college, and several enterprises.
Other cities and communities were targeted as well. The Kyiv, Dnipro, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, and Mykolaiv regions were also under attack. This is how Russia shows the world its intention to continue the war. It is very important that there be a response from the G7 countries, which are now gathering for their summit – and that this response be decisive and substantive: more pressure on the aggressor and more support for Ukraine’s air defense, especially anti-ballistic capabilities. I thank everyone who is helping us protect lives.
When Notre-Dame burned in 2019, the world stopped.
Today, Russia damages Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, a monastery nearly 1,000 years old and older than Notre-Dame itself.
A thousand years of history deserves the same attention, the same sympathy, and the same protection.

Dear Every MAGA Idiot Who Insisted A Few Days Ago That The New Algae In The Reflecting Pool Was Just "Residual Algae" Coming Out Of The Pipes,
NO. IT. WASN'T.
See, it turns out that painting the bottom of the pool dark blue to make it "prettier" had an unintended consequence your idiot Developer in Chief and his idiot "pool guys" who'd never coated a pool before never considered: the darker color heats the water extra fast, and the higher temperature speeds up algae growth.
So, not only did he fail to fix the one problem he set out to fix, he made the whole thing WORSE by being a dipshit.

Trump supporters are hoping against all odds that the MOU will not be terrible.
But even without the MOU, here are the realities: America lost, and Iran is now more politically powerful than four months ago.
