Jan Read #1. This book took me 5/6 months to finish but we made it! Imbolo Mbue is a brilliant writer, I’ll definitely be reading more of her stuff. This particular book was hard to read because it was too real to be fiction. Good book though and what an ending!
The women who fought for all the things we have the freedom to enjoy now IMAGINED a world where they could enjoys these freedoms. They dreamt & organised to that effect. Our freedoms were born out of imagination first &foremost!
There is a bioessentialist stream within feminism that makes ciswomen believe that the problem is men.
The problem is men under cishetero patriarchy for sure, but women are not inherently feminist!
