Hello SOMAD attendees.
Please note that, due to a misunderstanding with the venue operators, the event will now open at 1pm, rather than 11am. Consequently, all brackets have had their start times POSTPONED by 1 hour.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
And lets stop pretending that kickstarter backers throw any meaningful wrench into this. Theres 2100 backers out of like 5 million copies sold, so I doubt most people saying this shit belong to that 0.0004% of players who *SORT OF* (not really) have a financial stake in silksong
Been seeing this take a lot and I die a bit inside every time someone says they’re a “customer” of TC’s, as if Silksong were already out for preorder. Artists don’t owe you access into their private lives and process just because you like their work.
I don't believe it is. I am a customer, and the game in question is one that has taken an insane amount of time to create due to what we can only assume is feature creep.
Team Cherry seems to not care about their customers who are excited about the game and want to spend their hard earned money on it. But when asked about the game, all we are meet with is silence.
Simple communication would remove 99% of any issue that most people would have. Small updates and letting their fans know that the product will be delivered in some time frame is "how to run a successful business 101". The complete silent treatment is not only rude but shows a lack of care about their most devoted fans, and if they can't care about them, why should people in turn care about the game?
Look, I enjoyed Hollow Knight and was excited for the new game, but it's clear to me it just isn't coming, and if it does, ai'm kinda over it at this point (which honestly wasn't all that much to begin with, it was a fine game but probably wouldn't even make it in my top 100 games of all time. So I really don't care.
But speaking about how terribly they've treated long time fans... yeah, I'll go to bat for the little guy, and if my comment can help another indie dev go "oh wait, maybe I should communicate with my customers more" helps... then I'm fine with that. But that isn't parasocial, it's just actively speaking out about bad business practices.
@kaiju_paws@leodddd@GameOrDie007@SwampCommunist@catwarcrimes Whats going on with their money is they got one of the best metroidvanias of all time along with free postlaunch support. Kickstarter goals have never been a hard guarantee the way that preordering is. And thats only talking about 2100 ppl out of millions of copies sold
@TacoSas1014@ToadTheFreak@GameOrDie007@M1das_OW2 Thats about 2000ish people out of at least 5 million copies sold. How many of the people complaining online do you think belong to that tiny group?
