This isn’t steel, EVs, solar panels, or manufacturing jobs.
This threatens a few of billion-dollar API companies hellbent on power, not the jobs of working class Americans.
Chinese “dumping” LLMs means cheaper models, local ownership, private deployment, unlimited usage and frontier intelligence in the hands of startups, researchers and ordinary people/businesses.
If that results in OpenAI and Anthropic losing pricing power while everyone else gains access to better technology, oh well.
