I am currently helping a seed stage startup hire their founding team of 3-4 engineers and this is top of mind for me. Building a team that works well together as a whole is critically important, especially at this early stage.

Makes me realize how hiring is not focused on this stuff: "how would this person make the team better."

I guess, it is hard to be focused on this.

But this was one of the *very* rare devs who made every team much better. Nicer. More motivated. More a "team."

@GergelyOrosz @fnthawar @Pragmatic_Eng I have seen a similar trend with a couple of other early stage companies that i have been working with on their hiring processes. I do think it’s a step in the right direction.

@GergelyOrosz Even if your offering doesn’t necessarily solve the problem- you go solve it and use that as R&D to improve your product.
The R&D whilst having clear business impact is the secret sauce.

@carsonfarmer @AnthropicAI Are you using Claude code? I am really enjoying using it and am on the hunt for tips to improve the setup. Right now I am just using the vanilla Claude code.

@Suhail I have >2 Claude codes running simultaneously pretty much the whole day on multiple projects. The parallelism is amazing!

Also in terms of actual performance (implementation being on point, code structure etc) over this much volume — I have not seen anything else compare.

@eshear This is one of my favourite features of Claude Code. You can talk to it while it’s doing things, and it incorporates your messages automagically.

@garrytan I have most of my notes in text in a git repo, and I combine that with Claude Code.
