@JW49067 @SprtBookReviews i believe there are 29 fully funded MLS academies and agreed its not perfect and (like all things) unfortunately favors people with money but this is similar in places around the world with academies. Its not necessarily easy to get scouted but great players will be seen.

@smmlaw41 @SprtBookReviews certainly not perfect, but its a lot better than most sports in the US and certainly better than what it was 20 years ago when the current players were born. We are only starting to see the results of fully funded academies its going to take more time (and interest from kids)

@ClayTravis This couldn't be further from reality. Soccer is the ONLY sport in the US where elite players can play completely for free and even have entire schools and facilities that are paid for by the Pro teams. The travel team cost for the non-elite players is a separate issue.

@gasoccerforum @ImCollegeSoccer This is the exact same model as in europe. Kids get scouted from rural areas all the time and move to where the academies are (often away from family)
