It is highly irresponsible of journalists and broadcasters to post unconfirmed claims about mass murderers while thinking the word “allegedly” absolves them of fanning the flames of anti-migrant and anti-Muslim tensions.

This now deleted tweet of @ThatAlexWoman is no different to that of @daveatherton who falsely claimed the Southport killer was a Palestinian and the Magdeburg attacker was a Syrian — all proven to be baseless disinformation.

You can forgive a low IQ unkempt racist bigoted grifter like Dave, but to see journalists like Alex posting unverified rumours is simply reckless.

Now that we know the school shooter in Sweden was a white man called Rickard Andersson, will we see the same energy and passion from “patriots” in condemning white mass murderers, that we do with unconfirmed rumours of non-white criminals?

I doubt it very much, and that speaks volumes.
