Hmmm I’ve been working on a secret kajillion dollar math solution for 300 years hmmm maybe I should type in all my work into the robot that’s known for doing lying and cheating and doing fraud in order to find answers
@iamdothash I had to get accustomed to US layout instead of Norwegian one when working abroad, and my god it’s so much nicer to program on.
The brackets and curly braces just being a button is so much nicer than what i was used to
@Jonathan_Blow@sprangerlukas@BennettJonah Yes, I make well above that. Salaries are generally lower in tech than in US, but the ceiling is pretty high. Regardless, quality of life and cost of living in ratio to income matters far more. My newly built 800 square foot apartment for example costs me 700 euros a month.
I’m obviously biased because I live in Vienna, although not from here: But the best parts about Vienna come down to quality of life and cost of living (housing in particular) - not the beautiful old architecture you notice as a tourist. You can live rather comfortably on a salary of ~€45K / yr, which is pretty incredible for a city of that size.
@badlogicgames the staggering amount fearmongering that has been rubbed into my Austrian inlaws from news media is very evident when my job in clanker software comes up. It’s bizarre. Real doom and gloom
