Everyone isn’t built for investment banking and consulting. It looks nice from outside but inside it is just cruel and soul sucking. The pressure and hours are absolutely insane. It impacts you personally as bad as it impact you professionally. You have no time for yourself and everyday can turn into humiliation- plus folks who topped everything in their life get to see being humiliated for the first time in their life. That hits very hard!

I got out precisely because I wasn’t able to handle it beyond year 3 - reached hospital with a 60% mortality chance. Was a wake up call - Wife and mom crying, dad looking at me with a face I hadn’t seen.

Unless you aren’t made for it, don’t go there. There is no shame in throwing in the towel. The money isn’t worth it!
