What @DavidHundeyin has been highlighting re western censorship of Africa’s owned narratives is exactly why I detest our brand of crowdfunding culture.

We never ever crowdfund for African independent narratives. Never.
It’s always about “paying people’s school fees,” “paying their house rents” “buying them food” “people are going through a lot” blah blah blah. The same people that will still need school fees next term, rent next month, food tomorrow.

Crowdfund for ideas that can liberate them permanently, NO. Support independent journalism, NO. Even do as little as amplifying them — use your share button, NO. And we want liberation.

That’s why I have personal beef with giveaways.
