Sad News| Sekuru Karambwe (center) has passed away at the age of 64, leaving behind a trail of pain.
He was one of the Budiriro group, a group of citizens from Budiriro who were arrested and incarcerated during the election period in January last year. His journey was marked by resilience, but the burden of injustice and state ruthlessness weighed heavily on him. He was a Change Champion.
Today, mourners gather at his homestead in Budiriro 5, near Triple V shops, to honor his life and mourn his untimely departure.
A pillar of his community is gone, leaving a void that words cannot fill.
Today, Senator Jameson Timba and the remaining #Avondale78 will appear before the Harare Magistrates at 11am for their highly anticipated case ruling.
Today marks a grim 147 days in pre-trial detention for these wrongly accused political prisoners, who are being persecuted for championing real change in Zimbabwe.
They are innocent and deserve our support.
Let's #FillUpTheCourt today to show our solidarity and support their quest for justice. #FreeJamesonTimba #FreeAvondale64 #FreeAllPoliticalPrisoners
Today marks 146 days since the brutal arrest and torture of former Minister Jameson Timba and 78 others. These individuals endured horrific abuse at the hands of the police, with some left with broken legs and others suffering permanent hearing loss. Denied bail, they were subjected to an unjust and prolonged trial that the state repeatedly delayed. The trial finally concluded on October 25, but now they must wait until November 17 for a judgment. Three more relentless weeks of jail time.
This is not just a delay, it is a blatant disregard for justice and human dignity. Their suffering stands as a powerful, painful reminder of the lengths to which Zimbabwe's regime will go to crush dissent, revealing the tragic reality of a nation deprived of both political and human rights.
⚡️James Timba and most arrested at his residence in June are still in Prison! It can not be business as usual, we can not simply continue with our lives! A whole SADC chairperson is running a country with political prisoners. I agree with the people of Botswana for Booing him! #FreeAllPoliticalPrisoners #DropTheCharges
SAD BREAKING NEWS: Senator Jameson Timba and the remaining #Avondale78 members’ highly anticipated judgment has been postponed to Friday, November 15, 2024, at 11 a.m.
This unfortunate delay means they'll spend an additional four days in pre-trial detention, adding to the 147 days they've already endured, totaling 151 days.
Justice delayed is justice denied.

The plight of Amos Chibaya, Jameson Timba, and 63 other activists suffering in Zimbabwean jails speaks volumes. It serves as a stark reminder that there is no reason for the people of Mozambique to expect any favors or support from those in power.
Dear Citizens of Mozambique,
It is deeply troubling that, as citizens of Africa and beyond, we must face the reality that we lack responsible, caring leadership.
The upcoming SADC summit, scheduled for November 16th to 20th, will not resolve anything meaningful. The Zimbabwean government, currently the chair of SADC, has opposition politicians languishing in jail. They won’t discuss or resolve issues in favor of the general public, their priority will be to protect each other.
We will speak up until all political prisoners are free.
This man is not a criminal. He is a politician. Yes, he exposes corruption and criticizes those in the corridors of power, but that’s not a crime, it’s a right guaranteed in any functional democracy.

My heart and prayers are with the oppressed, all political prisoners.I understand what they’re going through. This too shall come to pass and we shall soon govern! @nelsonchamisa
Hon Timba and the Avondale 78 have endured 100+ days of pretrial detention, subjected to one of the most inhumane and degrading treatment by the regime in Harare. A doctor confirmed to us that most of them have contracted scabies, developing severe rashes. This violates their rights to have their dignity respected and protected in terms of Section 51 of the Constitution.
What cruelty!
