This is the same thing that happened between Usama and his father Zaid. Zaid was fair skinned and his son Usama was very dark. People in the community started whispering and casting doubt on Zaid's fatherhood because they could not stomach the stark difference in complexion.

It bothered the Prophet (peace be upon him) deeply because casting doubt on a woman's chastity without solid proof is a very destructive thing. It took a lineage expert to confirm Usama’s paternity before the noise stopped.

It is natural for human beings to be shocked when genetics throw a curveball. Recessive genes from generations back can surface without warning. However, there is a thick line between being surprised and becoming malicious.

The biggest failure in this video is not the mother in law. It is the husband. He never defended his wife while his family attacked her character. The woman had to be the one demanding a DNA test to protect her peace and shield her newborn baby from all the hostility.
